UBIKLoadPack Integration made easy

2015-11-13

Simply put, over the past few weeks getting to know Philippe Mouawad  from UBIKLoadPack has been an absolute pleasure.  When we decided it would be interesting to work together and support the UBIKLoadPack we did not have a way to simply drop in all the plugins.  As a customer of both, you had to do all the work yourself.  He was very patient with us updating our architecture to make this very simple for users. How To Record Tests with The BlazeMeter Chrome Extension

2015-10-01

The BlazeMeter Chrome Extension is a very good Apache JMeter test plan recorder directly in the browser.  It is a great improvement over the default JMeter recorder, which is a bit old-school and acts as a proxy on your system. Though BlazeMeter has not open sourced or contributed this back to the community, they do allow you to export valid JMeter test plans. We appreciate this free-to-use recorder and can quickly demonstrate recording and playing back at scale on RedLine13.Read More →

#9 Open Source Load Testing Review

2015-09-22

From the Open Source Load Testing presentation http://www.slideshare.net/richardfriedman/open-source-load-testing Everything else was build up to the review of this slide. What is available in  open source load testing tools?  There are so many ways to slice and dice all the great open source projects and this slide is not a deep review or demo of each project.  I looked at the dimensions of the projects in terms of content covered in this presentation. Distributed.  Does it support scaling loadRead More →

#6 How it used to work

2015-09-02

From the Open Source Load Testing presentation http://www.slideshare.net/richardfriedman/open-source-load-testing True story, but leaving out a few company specific details.  One of my first entries into managing larger teams was a project which had 40-50 developers and the middleware needed to support thousands of transactions per second.  The system was built with the work of a great team and the expertise of one amazing project manager, but we needed to start load testing. Realize this was circa 2004, so pre-cloud.Read More →

#4 Load Testing is …

2015-08-31

From the Open Source Load Testing presentation http://www.slideshare.net/richardfriedman/open-source-load-testing   If you have been through the process of build and running load tests, I am sure you have gone through all the emotions that come with it. From the fun of taking down your site or API, to the agony of not knowing where the bottleneck is, and eventually the eureka moment when you resolve the issue and run your next load test.  Here are some of my emotions.Read More →
