Real Time Map API and Widget

2014-09-23

We have released a fun new Real Time API and Widget. You have to see one example or maybe another to understand that we can display locations on a map in real time. The Real Time Map service can receive location data (Lat/Long or Zipcode) and display the data in real time on a map that can be installed as a widget on your website or mobile application. The Real Time Map service can be usedRead More →

After a year as a completely free offering, we have introduced a new Pro version with our most advanced features available. We will continue to have a free offering, and we will continue to expand the capabilities of both the free offering and the Pro version based on customer feedback. AWS Spot Instance Inconsistencies

2014-07-17

Amazon has announced that accounts created after December, 2013 have an undetermined limit on the number of spot instances that can be created. “By default, you are limited to a total of 5 Spot Instance requests in a region. New AWS accounts might have lower limits.” This has created a lot of confusion with RedLine customers since new Amazon accounts seem to be set to a default mostly of 0.  And existing customers that used toRead More →

RedLine Load Testing Pro Coming

2014-03-25

This May we will celebrate the one year anniversary of RedLine. Over that time we have had thousands of users of our free tools for Load Testing and Zipcode API.  We’ve had customer test their applications at the rate of 20,000 interactions per second and over 5 Million interactions in a single test. We introduced a paid version of the Zipcode API last fall, and it has been very successful to help us offset the costRead More →

Get and Post Parameters Now Available

2014-02-15

We have added the ability to  Get and Post parameters in RedLine.  Previously, we allowed just a ping of a URL, or to write a custom load agent in PHP or Node.js. We might call this the Goldilocks release – not to simple, not too hard.  Just right in the middle.Read More →

IP Address Added to help with Whitelist Reporting

2014-01-21

We have updated the reports of servers to show the actual public IP address (in dotted form – not the dns name) in the list of running servers, for easy copying/pasting. This makes life a lot easier in whitelisting the test server IPs with your service providers before the load test begins.  Our larger users had found it to be a bit of a mad dash to get all the IPs whitelisted before tests launch, especially whenRead More →

Node.js Support for Custom Tests

2014-01-21

We have added Node.js support to allow users to write their own custom Node.js load agents in addition to the PHP support that has been available since last summer. We will be adding documentation and examples, but for those of you who want to experiment – go for it!  Let us know any issues or if you have suggestions at info@redline13.com.Read More →

Faster Load Times

2014-01-21

We did some upgrades this weekend on the Linux load agent so it will start faster. We also added a linux shutdown script that will inform Redline that the server is shutting down.  This will help when people manually shut down servers.Read More →

More Scalability for Load Tests

2013-12-16

With all of the large load tests that are running on RedLine now, we have made some big internal improvements that expand our scalability.  This means that large users will not run into bottlenecks at the RedLine server level.  Essentially, we have decreased our load on our database server with far fewer writes.  We’ve replaced our Java SQS queue processor with one written in node.js.  It screams now! So bring the load!Read More →
