Load Testing with JMeter Nightly

By: RedLine13

RedLine13 continues to be the leader in load testing tools supporting the latest from Apache JMeter. This blog post will focus on load testing with JMeter Nightly.

JMeter Nightly builds are “interim builds that are untested and unsupported.” Apache makes clear to  “Use at your own risk!” They are intended for use by developers and others wishing to help with resolving JMeter bugs.

RedLine13 does a daily pull of the last Successful build of JMeter. When you run your load test, you can then set the JMeter version in RedLine13 to JMeter Nightly.

RedLine13 already announced support for JMeter 5.0, long before any other load testing tool. Here’s what RedLine13 Partner UBIK wrote about why you should be looking at JMeter 5.0 now: Why you should upgrade to JMeter 5.0.

In another JMeter-related enhancement, you can now set your JMeter default version in RedLine13. This way you don’t have to set your JMeter version each time you run a test.

And in a related enhancement to let you find your load test output file easier, the output file name is now set to the RedLine13 test name as the base name.
