Cloning: Quickly Rerun a Test – Even Change Parameters on the Fly

By: David Koziel

Have you ever had the need to run the same test more than once?  Or perhaps you’ve needed to run a similar test that only needed to be changed slightly. In these cases, it can be tedious and time consuming to re-enter all of the testing parameters and environment setup.  However, RedLine13 premium subscribers can duplicate any test with a single click!

The “Clone” feature can quickly duplicate any past test.

When you click on the “Clone” button, a copy of your test is created. This includes all test source files (e.g., test plan files, and CSV data files) as well as test configuration parameters. The size and number of servers, storage, and configured AWS region and subnet are all duplicated. If you have specified any test parameters (e.g., JMeter options) or selected any special plugins, these will be copied over to your new test as well. You can leave everything as is or you can easily modify the test and rerun it.

With our free trial, you can try out the “Clone” button and all of our premium features. Sign up today and begin testing right away!
