In the 2021 back-to-school season, Riverside anticipated increasing demand for online assessments as schools sought to benchmark their students’ learning after the challenges of remote and hybrid learning.
To prepare for this increased demand, Riverside was looking to create a more robust system to reduce any possible student testing interruptions. Given the high-stakes nature of Riverside’s assessments, standard redundancy and disaster recovery plans wouldn’t provide the level of service schools needed to be successful. Riverside designed a solution that offered a single application instance running synchronously across multiple clouds (AWS and Rackspace), providing both scaling and high availability to ensure smooth testing for our customers.
In order to verify and load test this new design, Riverside needed a method to test 100,000s of users logging and taking tests using JMETER scripts. Our previous load test vendor was charging us $1000s per test and we did not have access to a lot of the run data. We took a look at RedLine13 and immediately recognized the potential. Riverside was able to run all of our tests as many times as we wanted for a fraction of the cost. Not only was the product excellent, but there support was great.
