Load Testing a list of URLs

Log File Replay – just a list of URLs .

If you have a list of URLs you can cloud load test them at scale.

  1. Prepare your list of URLs in a simple file.   One line per file
    • /
      /Pricing
      /Services
      /Races?name=love&distance=&max_distance=&units=K&start_date=2016-04-07&end_date=&eventType=&country=US&state=&radius=5&zipcodeRadius=
      /NotAPage
  2. Start  A New Test and use “Log Replay Test”
    • Log File Simple URLs
  3. Setup your base URL
  4. Attach the file we created above
  5. Slect Log File Template – “Plain List” and your pattern will be %U
  6. Test your pattern
    • Test Log Pattern Plain List of URLs
  7. Setup other parameters such as iterations, users, and Advanced Cloud parameters.

  8. Start your (almost) free load test
    • https://redline13.com/share/testplan/26326

Confirming load test Results.

  1. We requested the log file be replayed 10 times
    • Cloud Load Test with 10 Results
  2. We had 5 URL Endpoints
    • Load Test with 5 URLs
  3. Each endpoint was executed as 10 users with 2 iterations, we should see 20 requests per end point
    • Each request 20 times
  4. We had one request which should have generated a 404 Error.
    • Load Test Expected Errors
