&#8211; This must be the full URL to the InfluxDB server with the appropriate for port for metrics.\u00a0 The default is port 8086 and usually not HTTPS (reference <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.influxdata.com\/influxdb\/v1.1\/tools\/api\/\">InfluxDB documentation<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;<em>InfluxDB for metrics<\/em>&#8221; &#8211; Metrics are sent to a &#8220;database&#8221; within InfluxDB. \u00a0This allows metrics to be categorized for searching.<br \/>\nWe use a default database name of &#8220;<em>redline13<\/em>&#8221; to make it easier to find load agent metrics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Start your test and wait for some results.<\/li>\n<li>Validating the data is available via the InfluxDB Admin UI after your test starts\n<ul>\n<li>In Admin UI check if the &#8220;<em>redline13<\/em>&#8221; from the Admin UI to check for metrics from your test.<br \/>\n<em>Note: the host is reported as redline13-[HOSTNAME]<\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3789 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/InfluxDB-Show-Series.png\" alt=\"influxdb-show-series\" width=\"630\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/InfluxDB-Show-Series.png 1054w, https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/InfluxDB-Show-Series-300x95.png 300w, https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/InfluxDB-Show-Series-1024x324.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/InfluxDB-Show-Series-768x243.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Set up Grafana (optional)\n<ul>\n<li>If you are also using Grafana you need set up your data source and your dashboards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"backend\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ce2420;\">Using the Plugin and a Backend Listener with JMeter<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When this plugin is started we also enable the Telegraf Graphite listener port <em>2003<\/em> is opened on the local load test agent. \u00a0You can configure your JMeter Backend Listener to point to 127.0.0.1 on port <em>2003<\/em> so your Graphite requests will be sent along to InfluxDB through Telegraf.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In your load test add a <a href=\"https:\/\/jmeter.apache.org\/usermanual\/component_reference.html#Backend_Listener\">Backend Listener<\/a> and configure the host to be 127.0.0.1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3792 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/JMeter-with-Backend-Listener.png\" alt=\"jmeter-with-backend-listener\" width=\"832\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/JMeter-with-Backend-Listener.png 1152w, https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/JMeter-with-Backend-Listener-300x139.png 300w, https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/JMeter-with-Backend-Listener-1024x473.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.redline13.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/JMeter-with-Backend-Listener-768x355.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 832px) 100vw, 832px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"stats\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ce2420;\">Stats That Are Available<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We have three groups of stats:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>System stats from Telegraf\u00a0including <em>cpu<\/em>, <em>disk<\/em>, <em>diskio<\/em>, <em>process, swap, memory, kernel,<\/em> and <em>system<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Each these stats break down into their own group of stats.<\/li>\n<li>To find these stats you may do either of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/influxdata\/telegraf\/blob\/master\/plugins\/inputs\/system\/README.md\">ReadMe<\/a> for each type in <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/influxdata\/telegraf\/tree\/master\/plugins\/inputs\/system\">GitHub<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Run the query &#8220;SHOW FIELD KEYS on <em>redline13<\/em>&#8221; from the InfluxDB Admin UI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>JMeter process stats are collected via <a href=\"https:\/\/jolokia.org\/\">Jolokia<\/a>\/JMX:\n<ul>\n<li>We have enabled three <em>mbeans<\/em>:\n<ul>\n<li><em>java.lang:type<\/em> = Memory with attribute HeapMemoryUsage<\/li>\n<li><em>java.lang:type<\/em> = Threading with attributes TotalStartedThreadCount, ThreadCount, DaemonThreadCount, and PeakThreadCount<\/li>\n<li><em>java.lang:type<\/em> = ClassLoading with attributes LoadedClassCount, UnloadedClassCount, and TotalLoadedClassCount<\/li>\n<li>To see the details you can query &#8220;SHOW FIELD KEYS on <em>redline13<\/em>&#8221; from the InfluxDB Admin UI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If using a JMeter Backend Listener you can access all of the JMeter metrics in real-time.\n<ul>\n<li>To see a list of properties you can take a look at\n<ul>\n<li>JMeter documentation at <a href=\"http:\/\/jmeter.apache.org\/usermanual\/realtime-results.html\">http:\/\/jmeter.apache.org\/usermanual\/realtime-results.html<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Run the &#8220;SHOW FIELD KEYS on <em>redline13<\/em>&#8221;
